NOEL TORRES

A pawned accordion decided his fate. It arrived in his home by means of a debt owed to his father. The moment he saw it his curiosity piqued and at merely 13 years of age, the peculiar object with melodic folds and fascinating buttons determined his musical future. The musical influence of such greats as Ramon Ayala, Los Invasores de Nuevo Leon, Joan Sebastian, Los Tucanes de Tijuana, Miguel y Miguel, and Juan Villareal determined his genre.

Noel Torres was born in Culiacan, Sinaloa to hard working parents who immigrated to the United States as many do, in search of a better future. Soon after learning to play accordion he learned to sing and dabbled in writing while still focusing in his high school studies. He went as far as enrolling for two years in college, but the call for music was too compelling and he opted to follow his heart and focus on it professionally.

The decision paid off as he soon found himself recording a live album En Vivo (2010) and followed that by laying down the tracks to five studio albums—Llegamos, Estamos y Seguimos (2011), De Ayer a Hoy (2012), La Estructura (2013), La Balanza (2014), and Me Pongo de Pie (2016).

A productive and highly successful 6 years that yielded hit after hit including “Adivina”, “Me Interesas”, “Para qué tantos besos”, “Amanecí con Ganas” y “Tan Fácil y Simple” and unprecedented critical acclaim that translated to nods and a win in Premios de la Calle 2013 and Premios de la Radio 2013, as well as multiple nods in Premios de la Radio 2014 and 2015, Premios Tu Mundo 2013 and 2014, Premios Billboard in 2013, 2014 and 2015, Premios Lo Nuestro 2014 and 2015 and was named “Orgullo Hispano” by the International Press Radio & Television Association in Las Vegas in 2015.

In 2016, Noel found himself at a crossroads. Loving music too much to sacrifice his artistry, he decided it was time to bet once again on himself, much as he did when he dropped out of college, and in this case drop the labels and take his music literally in his hands. Thus, he created NT Music, and spent four months in the studio carefully crafting the songs that will comprise LA VIDA A MI MODO, the new album that will be released this summer. The first single off the album “No Va A Ser Cuando Tu Quieras” already validate the decision.  Within only two weeks of its video premiering on VEVO, it neared 1 million views and has charted in all major radio charts in the United States.

LA VIDA A MI MODO features four songs authored by Noel and others by renowned songwriters Luciano Luna, Omar Tarazon, Eden Munoz, and Horacio Placencia.  It also features a duet with Legado 7.
