Ozark Couture: Nature as Muse is a collaboration among fashion designers/artists, writers and musicians that will culminate in an Artosphere fashion show at the Bradberry Amphitheater at Walton Arts Center (outdoor venue in the Rosen Memorial Rose Garden, adjacent to the Joy Pratt Markham Gallery).
The project was conceived to fulfill the Ozark Couture mission to create and promote events that feature Northwest Arkansas couture designers as Fine Artists (wearable art); to collaborate and explore a variety of wearable art exhibition formats; and to challenge designers and artists to engage the public in awareness of and appreciation for contemporary art.

 |
The Ozark Couture: Nature as Muse Fashion Show will feature the work of seven Northwest Arkansas designers/artists shown by 35 local models. Five looks from each designer will be presented in a unique garden event format that includes both spoken word and improvised music accompaniment.
Seven writers, paired with a Ozark Couture designer, were tasked to create a 3-5 minute written/spoken word element. Each created a written response to their interaction with the designer, to the designer’s vision of the Nature as Muse theme, as well as to the designer’s collection. |

|
| The written/spoken word responses –poetry, monologue, prose, Haiku, or litany—will be an integrated part of the Ozark Couture event, accompanying the presentation of the collections. Live music, improvised by Artosphere Festival Orchestra musicians, will create a vital undercurrent—contemporary, elegant and expansive—that will support the flow and movement on the runway. This platform of sound, both musical and spoken, will become the canvas for showcasing the Ozark Couture fashion. |
