Walton Arts Center Expansion Update 9/25/2012
The Walton Arts Center (WAC) Council
endorsed a concept for the expansion of its Fayetteville theater complex
at a board meeting Tuesday, September 25. The expansion will include
approximately
30,000 square feet of new space including an expanded main lobby, a larger performance space and dedicated lobby e in Starr Theater and more dressing rooms and
storage backstage.

“We couldn’t be more excited about this vision for
the expansion of Walton Arts Center,” said Peter B. Lane, President/CEO. “After
20 years of growth and success, this
expansion will give us the space we need to grow our programs, better serve our
partner organizations and bring more events to the Dickson Street area.
Along with plans to
expand the facilities, the WAC board passed a resolution to encourage the
Fayetteville
City Council to proceed with construction of a new parking deck on or adjacent
to the Walton Arts Center campus.
